DIVE IN QUESTIONS

1. What stands out to you from hearing these verses?  Is God offering an invitation or a challenge to you through those words?  Take time to pray about it.

2. Where all does this theme of “darkness” play out in the Bible?  See if you can come up with more examples than the ones Pastor Anthony used and take some time later to page through the Bible (or www.biblegateway.com on a search for related words) to read them.

3. What do the Biblical writers mean by “darkness”?  Who does it impact?  And why are the characters in this story used as representations of this darkness?

4. What makes the difference between the Magi and the folks in Jerusalem such that the Magi see the star and go on a search and the others don’t?

5. What does all this tell us about how to find the light of Christ in the midst of the darkness of our own lives and world?

6. How do we live in light of the light of Christ amid a still-dark world and life?  Are there particular ways you might seek to do that this week?
