  1. Read Luke 19:35:44. What similarities do you notice between 1 Samuel 12 and this passage?
  2. What was Israel’s sin and why did they do it? Why was it a sin?
  3. Israel continues in their sin with only a little bit of repentance. How would you describe their repentance? How would you describe God’s response to his people?
  4. What happens when we don’t take sin seriously enough? How does the belief and knowledge of our own status as “sinners” help?
  5. What happens when we take sin too seriously? How does belief in Jesus’ completed work of saving us help?
  6. How might you live under the Lordship of King Jesus, our Prince of Peace this week? Trusting that his ways really are sufficient for salvation and peace in our world?
